Elbert Creek Campground is one of the locations to camp here in the Sawatch Range. It is very dried out here at Elbert Creek Campground commonly; the month with most of the rain is August while February is mostly the driest month.
Elbert Creek is one of the streams nearby that
might be worth taking a look at; there are good locations to look at along the Mount Elbert Trail. This is really a great campground. Ski Cooper is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and there's whitewater on Arkansas River for all you adrenaline kick people.
