White River National Forest is worth a visit if you're at Dorchester Campground, and a visit to Curecanti National Recreation Area is worthwhile.

This campground is so fine. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Snowmass, and a visit here wouldn’t be complete without a journey to close
by San Isabel National Forest. This site is great, just explore all the amusing things to do close to Dorchester Campground. At Dorchester Campground you don’t see much precipitation; most of the rain falls all through August; the driest of the months is February.
At Dorchester
Campground all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Dorchester Campground tend to be in the 0's.
