Sheep Mountain is clearly visible from Colt Spring Campground; delightful hiking is available along the Texas Creek Trail.

This is such a fun spot for a campground. There are plenty of folks from Buena Vista here at Colt Spring Campground, and Colt Spring Campground is near Spruce Gulch which is unquestionably worth stopping at.
But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Sawatch Range. There's whitewater on Arkansas River for all you adrenaline people, and there's brilliant hiking along the South Pine Creek Trail. Having a great time in the Sawatch Range is painless. A quick trip to Hughes
Creek close to Colt Spring Campground is a great idea, and going for a hike on the Browns Creek Trail is always a great adventure.

days here at Colt Spring Campground, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 30's.
