Cayton Campground is right by the East Fork Trail, and going for a hike along the Winter Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Take a hike on the Lizard Head Trail, and Lime Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. Cayton Campground is a top pick with the folks in Rico. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hermosa Creek, and when you're here it's always fun to go to Ridgway State Park. Be careful |

| a perfect whitewater spot close by. The surroundings of this campground have such a great deal of things to offer. Hiking along the Kilpacker Trail is tremendous fun. This is truly a magnificent campground. Here at Cayton Campground there are plenty of folks from Rico; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Telluride since you're here.

through the dark hours in the winter at Cayton Campground temperatures dip to the 0's. Cayton Campground is usually a rather dry place; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June. Finally, camping time is here again; Cayton Campground is a wonderful local campground if you happen to be in Colorado.
