At this campground you will always have a delightful time. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gunnison River, and nearby you hit upon perfect spots like Fisher Gulch. Going for a hike on the Onemile Cattle Trail is always a good adventure, and why not head up to Irwin Lodge and strap some skis to your feet. Around Almont Campground you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of   all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow; the driest of the months is June. There's magnificent hiking along the Summerville Trail, and of course, all our national parks are great spots to explore and Curecanti National Recreation Area is no exception. High temperatures at Almont Campground through the warm months are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 30's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows at Almont Campground during the wintertime frequently descend into the-10's.
