Agate Campground, Sawatch Range, Colorado   Some folks stay at Agate Campground for the purpose of being in the neighborhood of San Isabel National Forest. Do pay a visit to Curecanti National Recreation Area   since you're here at Agate Campground, and while you're here why not stop at Cow Gulch. Get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Arkansas River, and do take a hike on the Pitkin Stock Driveway. There's such an incredible array of things to do at Agate Campground including whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do. So many local attractions and such a great variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. Agate Campground is pretty waterless generally; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most; June is when it's the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Sawatch Range. The Fooses Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Divide Trail. This is such a fun place for a campground. San Isabel National Forest is a great place to check out. Agate Campground is a top pick campground with residents of Sargents.
