Sawmill Basin are great to go to. As long as you go for the outdoors you will go for California. There's great hiking along the Manzana Trail; why not pop by close by Ballard Creek while you're here at Upper Ballard Campground. This is such a good campground. El Capitan State
Beach is worth visiting if you're at Upper Ballard Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Cuyama River offers some magnificent whitewater. Upper Ballard Campground is prized by residents of Santa Ynez. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the
fun things in the Sierra Madre. Don't leave Upper Ballard Campground without dropping by Refugio State Beach, and there are pleasant spots to discover along the Hurricane Deck Trail. Upper Ballard Campground is pretty waterless generally; February is the month that gets the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
