The peak of Gaylor Peak can be seen from Tioga Campground, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. The great variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation will beyond doubt have you coming back many times. Going camping here in California is something you must do. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the Central Sierra Nevada has to offer. You can run the rapids of Tenaya Creek close to Tioga Campground; the John Muir Trail - section 1 is a perfect hiking trail close by. You definitely have to go to Bodie State Park while you're here at Tioga Campground, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12. It's been too much time since you went outside, you need to get out, and Tioga Campground in California is exactly the place.
