Thatcher Campground, Sierra Madre, California   At Thatcher Campground you don’t see much precipitation; the month of February is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. This camp ground is located in the stunning Sierra Madre. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Thatcher Campground while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 60's with temperatures at Thatcher Campground dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. The magnificent selection of local attractions, and such a magnificent variety of outdoors recreation   will certainly have you coming back time and again. Do set aside some time for Ten Sycamore Flat if you're here at Thatcher Campground, and Los Padres National Forest is a splendid site to have a look at on a delightful day. And that's not everything you can do here in the Sierra Madre. If you're here, you might as well stop at Red Reef Canyon; Thatcher Campground is right by the Alder Creek Trail. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Get dripping wet paddling on Sespe Creek, and there's magnificent hiking along the Reed Reef Trail. A trip to Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is recommended, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Cedar Lake Trail. This campground is always a diversion. Hiking along the Upper Sespe River Trail is magnificent fun, and float down the rapids of Piru Creek in a kayak. Outdoors folks generally fancy this sector of California.
