Sunset Campground, Northern Sierra Nevada, California   Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going   for a hike on the Poison Hole Trail is always a great adventure, and Big Hill is charming and can be seen from here. Visit Jones Fork Silver Creek if you're here at Sunset Campground; the Dry Lakes Trail is a fine hiking trail close by. Sunset Campground mostly gets a lot of rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Among the things you can do in the vicinity of Sunset Campground are fishing, whitewater paddling, hiking, and swimming, so it's totally impossible to get bored. Eldorado National Forest is a great place to stop by on a delightful day; if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork.
