vertical drop and 67 trails. Bear Valley gets blanketed by an average of 30 feet of wonderful snow yearly. A good 1.2-mile-long beautiful wilderness trail having a height difference of 463 feet can be encountered around here; this is the Emigrant Trail. Hiking the Emigrant Trail, an average wilderness trail, requires more or less one hour. Bear Valley is a nice local ski area, and Stanislaus National Forest is worth checking out.
