For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 40's; overnight lows at South Portal Campground during the winter frequently fall into the 30's. As if South Portal Campground wasn't enough, you can also go hiking, fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do. This is such a splendid campground. Placerita Canyon State Park is a pretty location   any time of year; there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Warm Springs Necktie Trail. And that's not all you can do here in the Sierra Madre. Near South Portal Campground you come across the Fish Canyon Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and there are plenty of people from Lake Hughes here. There's no way to run out of exciting things to do in the vicinity of South Portal Campground; if you're trying to find a brilliant location to go for a weekend of camping, this is a fine pick. This segment of California is always a bliss to visit all through camping season. The great choice of local attractions, and such an incredible array of things to do are nice reasons to come.
