If you come at the right time of year, American River - North Fork offers some magnificent whitewater, and do visit Liberty Hill Reservoir, it's a charming lake. Empire Mine State Park is a glorious spot; Skillman Campground is not far at all from Washington. If the weather is brilliant here at Skillman Campground, you can go for a hike along the Bedbug Smith Trail, and at Skillman Campground you can make out Remington Hill. As if Skillman Campground wasn't sufficient, you can also go fishing, swimming, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so it's out of the question to get bored. Gotta ski! Soda Springs is a pleasant place to do that. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Skillman Campground. Take a hike on the Bayes Cabin Road; sites like Malakoff Diggins State Park are pleasant to check out. Skillman Campground is a top choice with campers from Washington. At Skillman Campground through the summertime highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Skillman Campground.
