Hiking along the Buzzards Roost Trail is perfect fun, and Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is a pleasant place to stop at on a lovely day. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Santa Lucia Range. Pfeffer-Redwood Creek is near Sawmill Flat Campground and is always a bliss to check out; nearby Pfeiffer Gulch is a wonderful location to go. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Carmel River, and lots of folks from Carmel come here. Manuel Peak is clearly visible from Sawmill Flat Campground, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the San Clemente Trail. Just can't get enough of Sawmill Flat Campground. While you're here at Sawmill Flat Campground you can take a hike along the Big Sur Trail. Sawmill Flat Campground gets very little rain; all through January this area sees the most rain while July is ordinarily the driest month. This is such a great campground. Get wet paddling on Little Sur River, and during your stay here do take a look at close by Pfeiffer Beach.
