Don't leave Sandy Campground without first going for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 16, and Sandy Campground is not far at all from Old Station. The surroundings of this campground have so much to offer. The slopes of Mount Shasta are so inviting nobody can resist. The tremendous local attractions and all the outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. This is beyond doubt a great campground. Going for a hike on the Bunchgrass Trail is always a great adventure; whitewater paddling is perfect on Pit River.
