Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clear Creek Sacramento Tributary; Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a very pleasant site to go to. Going for a weekend of camping here in California is something you have to do. Shasta National Forest is a great location to explore, and if you come at the right time of year, Coffee Creek offers some tremendous whitewater.
So many local attractions and the perfect variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Ridgeville Island Campground. Drift down the rapids of Trinity River in a kayak, and you'll meet a lot of people from Lewiston here. Weaverville Joss House State Park is a scenic place any time of year, and Ragged Gulch is a tremendous place to have a look at.
