Kern River is a delightful whitewater spot right next door to Rhymes Campground, and nearby you locate the Tobias Creek Trail which is a splendid hiking trail.

At Rhymes Campground you can make out Shirley Peak; going for a hike on the Cannell Meadow

This campground is always a pleasure. You can run the rapids of Kern River near Rhymes Campground, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Old Sled Trail. Places like Sequoia National Forest are wonderful to explore, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Virginia Trail.
