| | We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of |
anything.

This campground is so delightful. Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Deer Creek. Go for a hike on the Growler Trail; there are some great whitewater spots on Big Kimshew Creek. You completely have to like the Northern Sierra Nevada.
| Near Potato Patch Campground you discover the Murphy Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and if you haven’t been to Lassen Volcanic National Park, you have to schedule some time for it if you're here.
Potato Patch Campground is an old favorite with the people in Forest Ranch. Potato Patch Campground gets a typical amount of rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest.

whitewater on Mill Creek for all you adrenaline junkies, and during your trip here you'll meet some people from Forest Ranch for sure. A lot of people stay at Potato Patch Campground to be next to Lassen Volcanic National Park.
This camp ground is one of the magnificent sites
to camp here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The surroundings of this campground have so many things to offer. If the weather is good here at Potato Patch Campground, you can go for a hike along the Carter Meadow Trail, and you certainly have to pop by Bidwell-Sacramento River State
Park since you're here.
Be careful coming to Potato Patch Campground, you might not ever want to return back home again. Going for a hike on the Childs Meadows Trail is always a nice adventure; some close by water includes Forked Creek. High temperatures at Potato Patch Campground
all through the summertime months are in the 90's, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, usually in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Potato Patch Campground dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. It's completely
out of the question to get bored in California if you like the outdoors.
There's plenty of outdoors recreation available close by such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so it's completely out of the question to get bored. These mountains rock, just explore all the exciting
stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Potato Patch Campground is in the vicinity of Plumas National Forest which is a stunning location, and the Lassen Trail is a great hiking trail close by.
