Portal Forebay Campground, Central Sierra Nevada, California

  A number of people camp here through their tour to Sierra National Forest. Paddling on Mono Creek is so much fun, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail. At this campground you will always have a great time. Devils Postpile National Monument is a great national park; there's some flowing water nearby, West Fork Camp Sixty One D Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here.
San Joaquin River - South Fork has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by, and going for a hike along the Red Mountain Trail will let
    you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. There's no way to get bored in California if you have a thing about the outdoors.

Portal Forebay Campground is a popular spot with the people in Lakeshore. There's such an incredible array of things to do at Portal Forebay Campground including swimming, fishing, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do. Portal Forebay Campground is regularly a rather dried out site; January is the month that gets the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. During the summertime months at Portal Forebay Campground temperatures are usually in the 70's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows during the wintertime for Portal Forebay Campground tend to be in the 20's.
