| | Pollard Flat Campground (USFS has been closed for over 10 years. The closed campground is within 100 feet of the Interstate Highway. The Day Use area/River access that is about 1/2 mile upstream is a very nice spot for put in/out. Says Peter
Pollard Flat Campground is a campground esteemed by the people of Lakehead. As if Pollard Flat Campground wasn't sufficient, you can also go whitewater paddling, and hiking, so running out of enjoyable things to do won’t happen.

Trinity River - East Fork is a perfect whitewater spot in close proximity to Pollard Flat Campground; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Dry Creek Trail. Through the summertime months highs here at Pollard Flat Campground get into the 80's. During
| the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Pollard Flat Campground. Why not explore close by North Salt Creek while you're here at Pollard Flat Campground.
Near Pollard Flat Campground you come across Pollard Gulch which is a wonderful location to check out, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the Echo Lake Trail. of Sacramento River. Be careful coming to Pollard Flat Campground, you might not ever want to return home again. When you're here at Pollard Flat Campground it's always fun to visit Castle Crags State Park, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Castle Lake Trail.
Going for a hike along the Crags Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and there are plenty of people from Lakehead here. If time allows, Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a national park worth a visit; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go
skiing at Mount Shasta while you're here. There is so much fun stuff right next door to Pollard Flat Campground; it's one of those spots where everything is nice.

of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain while July is regularly the driest month. With such a vast number of things to do in California you'll never get bored.
