Pollard Flat Campground, California Custom Search   Pollard Flat Campground (USFS has been closed for over 10 years.  The closed campground is within 100 feet of the Interstate Highway.  The Day Use area/River access that is about 1/2 mile upstream is a very nice spot for put in/out. Says Peter Primitive campgrounds such as Pollard Flat Campground could be tough to get to, but they are lovely. It is especially scenic here at this primitive campground; primitive camping is a fine way to be in close       proximity to the great outdoors. Loads of folks camp here for the purpose of being near Castle Crags State Park. You've gotta get out; Pollard Flat Campground is a magnificent local       campground if you happen to be in California. Sacramento River has a perfect 13-mile-long type IV whitewater part nearby, the Sims Flat Campground to Lake Shasta segment. This part of Sacramento River is an enjoyable part for whitewater   kayaking and rafting. For your safety you have to always check restrictions ahead of going whitewater kayaking and rafting. The 357 foot variation in height Echo Lake Trail is a beautiful place to go backcountry backpacking; it's 1.2 miles of good backcountry backpacking.
