Blackmans Bar is in the neighborhood of Placer Campground and is a brilliant place, and Forked Meadow is right here at Placer Campground. And if that's not sufficient there's lots more fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. West Fork Chiquito Creek is a great local stream, and don't leave without visiting Sierra National Forest. At Placer Campground cool stuff   to do is abundant, and it is a great escape from the routine. The slopes of Sierra Summit are so inviting noone can resist; if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Placer Campground a wet location; through January this area sees the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada.
