This segment of California is always a pleasure to go to during camping season. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Pickett Peak Campground. Drift down the rapids of Trinity River - South Fork in a kayak, and hiking along the Ben Arthur Trail is nice
fun. Granite Canyon is a good location to visit nearby; you'll in all probability meet some folks from Zenia here. The fine variety of local attractions and the close by outdoors recreation will make you happy you came. There are some great whitewater spots on Mad River, and do take a hike on the Ruth Hayfork Trail.
