Summer brings highs in the 90's to Philpot Campground while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's, and overnight lows at Philpot Campground during the wintertime typically drop into the 30's. Joss House State Park is a nice location to stretch your legs a bit; there are some great whitewater spots on Hayfork Creek. The great local attractions and the close by outdoors recreation will make you happy you came. Coming to this campground is always a good idea. Hiking along the Ben Arthur Trail is good fun, and the summit of Plummer Peak can be spotted from Philpot Campground.
