highs are typically in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Pacific Valley Campground. Pacific Grade Summit is a peak you can catch a sight of from Pacific Valley Campground, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Burnside Lake Trail.
And if that's not enough there's plenty more fun stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Places like Grover Hot Springs State Park are good to stop by, and what would winter be without some skiing at Bear Valley. If you come at the right time of year, Carson River - East Fork offers some perfect whitewater, and Marshall Canyon is another good site to stop by close by. It's not very good for you to spend too much time in the city; you've gotta get out every so often, and Pacific Valley Campground is a pleasant local campground if you happen to be in California.
Pacific Valley Campground is incredibly popular with the folks in Markleeville. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Get soaked paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Hawley Grade Trail.
Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is great fun, and Pacific Valley Campground is right by the Emigrant Trail. Scores of folks stay at Pacific Valley Campground when going to Grover Hot Springs State Park.
The high level of precipitation makes Pacific Valley Campground a relatively wet spot; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
