On a good day at Pacific Valley Campground you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Carson River - East Fork. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always gorgeous. Mosquito Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by; Stanislaus National Forest is worth stopping at. Pacific Valley is a tremendous place to check out, and the sight of lovely Pacific Grade Summit is splendid. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. Marshall Canyon is a great place to stop at close to Pacific Valley Campground, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Markleeville.
