All year is a tremendous time in the Central Sierra Nevada if you go for the outdoors. A journey to Sierra National Forest rejuvenates the spirit; going for a hike on the Bobs Flat Trail is always a fine adventure. At Oakie Bear Campground amusing stuff to do is plentiful, and what a delightful place for camping it is.
This campground is so pleasant. While you're here at Oakie Bear Campground you will meet lots of people from close by Shaver Lake; there are great places to explore along
 
the Red Mountain Trail. Everybody loves Millerton Lake State Park, and you can hit the slopes at Sierra Summit nearby. There's more to do next to Oakie Bear Campground other than just hanging out such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. Dinkey Creek is a good whitewater spot near Oakie Bear Campground, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Deep Creek Trail. It's completely out of the question to get bored in California if you like the outdoors.
Oakie Bear Campground is a very popular campground with the folks in Shaver Lake. This campground has so much cool stuff to offer.
