Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go home again. If you come at the right time of year, San Joaquin River - South Fork offers some delightful whitewater, and don't leave North Lake Campground without first going for a hike along the Kings River Trail. Glide down the rapids of Kings River - Middle Fork in a kayak; don't forget to take a fine little journey to North Fork Lamarck Creek. A tour to Devils Postpile National Monument is worthwhile; there's magnificent hiking along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section.

if North Lake Campground wasn't enough, you can also go hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, and fishing, so it's just not possible to get bored. Summertime highs at North Lake Campground usually tend to be in the 90's, and the night is quite chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; overnight lows in the 20's for North Lake Campground.
