If you come to this campground, you will have a glorious time for sure. Soar down the rapids of Tuolumne River - South Fork in a kayak, and the Pilot Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Middlefork Campground. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; nighttime lows at Middlefork Campground all through the winter
 
commonly descend into the 20's. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Take a hike on the El Capitan Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Badger Pass is reasonably near.
But wait, there's more to do close to Middlefork Campground. You get a glorious vista of Ackerson Mountain from Middlefork Campground, and unsurprisingly, this is a great vicinity for people who like lakes, Birch Lake is a lake in the vicinity.
And if that's not sufficient there's a load more entertaining stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Don't miss out on a visit to Yosemite National Park if you're here at Middlefork Campground; why not take a refreshing hike along the Hite Cove Trail. This campground has so much fun stuff to offer. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cherry Creek - West Fork; going for a hike along the Hetch Hetchy Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
If you come at the right time of year, Merced River - South Fork offers some great whitewater, and folks from Groveland love to come here.
