you can take a hike along the Dawson Peak Trail.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Gabriel Mountains. Going for a hike on the Heaton Flat Trail is always a fine adventure, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Jackson Lake.
Mescal Campground is often visited by people from Valyermo.
Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. There is a nice hiking trail in the vicinity of Mescal Campground called the Allison Trail, and Ball Flat is a delightful location to check out. Summertime brings highs
in the 90's to Mescal Campground. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows at Mescal Campground during the winter commonly dip into the 30's.
Mescal Campground is a wonderful camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the San Gabriel Mountains.
