Going for a hike on the Windmiller Trail is always a perfect adventure, and going to Calaveras Big Trees State Park is a good thing to do. Lower Bear River Campground is a pretty wet place generally with a large amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is January, and July on the other hand is the driest.

Get dripping wet paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork; a visit to Eldorado National Forest when you're here is never a bad idea. It's just not possible to run out of cool things to do near Lower Bear River Campground; what a tremendous spot for camping it is.
There's no way someone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The sight of Peddler Hill from Lower Bear River Campground is pretty, and not far from Lower Bear River Campground you'll locate Bear River Reservoir which is a beautiful lake. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Lower Bear River Campground while nighttime lows are frequently in the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are regularly in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Lower Bear River Campground temperatures plunge to the 30's.
