Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Thomes Creek, and Chimney Rock is a fine site to pop by while in the neighborhood. This campground is so good. Cottonwood Creek is a stream that you may run into during your stay; there's whitewater on Grindstone Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. Summertime highs at Lone Star Campground regularly tend to be in the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for Lone Star Campground.
