You find the 2.3-mile-in-distance Leavitt Station Trailhead to Pickel Meadow segment of West Walker River close by; this is a grade IV-V whitewater part. This part of West Walker River is a challenging part for raft paddling. Whitewater rafting and kayaking may turn perilous, so check conditions before heading out. A good nearby hiking trail featuring an altitude variation of 2,323 feet is Early Emigrant and Indian Trail, a delightful  
7.6-mile-long backcountry trek. A good one day of challenging trekking lies ahead for you along the Early Emigrant and Indian Trail.
