Liebre Mountain is lovely and can be observed from Horse Trail Campground; there's whitewater on Piru Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Piru Creek, and the Warm Springs
| Necktie Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close by.
All the pleasant local attractions nearby and the nearby outdoors recreation will make you delighted you came. This campground is a good spot to have a look at. Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Gillette Mine Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Horse Trail Campground with night lows in the 60's. Highs during the winter are typically in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Horse Trail Campground.

Dry Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and a trip to Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is worthwhile.
And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do close to Horse Trail Campground. Going to Hungry Valley State Park in the neighborhood of Horse
Trail Campground is a perfect thing to do, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Warm Springs Trail. A visit to Castaic Lake State Park when you're here at Horse Trail Campground is never a bad idea, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Fish Canyon Trail.
Robinson Canyon is a great spot to discover, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Burnt Peak Trail. Horse Trail Campground is frequently a relatively dehydrated place; during the month of February you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is July.
