I've been going to hole in the ground, off and on for 40 years. From when I was a kid hiking in the forest, tubing down the creek, swimming in the pools, and fishing for planted trout that the hatchery would toss in the creek. Now it is a restricted salmon run, there is no planters and restrictions on the type of tackle you can use. The fishing was great as a kid. I like how peaceful it is, |

with the sound of creek and an occasional bluejay chirping. I enjoy cooking on the wood stoves. There are only a hand full left, (what a shame). I will be meeting one of my brothers and dad at the hole in three weeks. My large family with foster children love going to the hole.

Hole in the ground is my favorite campground here in Northern California. I just got back from a 3 day stay there and it was beautiful. I have been going to H.I.T.G. since I was a kid and my dad would take me fishing there. Mill Creek is great for trout fishing and never crowded! Good luck finding Hole in the Ground though... the road is unmarked and if it were up to me I'd keep it that way. For the lucky few of us who know where | |

A trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park is recommended, and not far from Hole in the Ground Campground you'll stumble on Pear Lake which is a picturesque
lake. This campground is a gorgeous site to stop by. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Childs Meadows Trail, and the Growler Trail offers hiking at its best. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. Jones Valley is
a magnificent place to look at, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Kimshew Creek. This is such a fun site for a campground. Have a great hiking adventure along the Lassen Trail, and folks from Mineral love to come
here.
Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things close to Hole in the Ground Campground. If the weather is gorgeous, you acquire a magnificent panorama of Mineral Summit from Hole in the Ground Campground, and a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Mill Creek.

spot nearby. Throughout the days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Hole in the Ground Campground, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for Hole in the Ground Campground.
