Says CHRISTIE I've been going to hole in the ground, off and on for 40 years. From when I was a kid hiking in the forest, tubing down the creek, swimming in the pools, and fishing for planted trout that the hatchery would toss in the creek. Now it is a restricted salmon run, there is no planters and restrictions       on the type of tackle you can use. The fishing was great as a kid. I like how peaceful it is, with the sound of creek and an occasional bluejay chirping. I enjoy cooking on the wood stoves. There are only a hand full left, (what a   shame). I will be meeting one of my brothers and dad at the hole in three weeks. My large family with foster children love going to the hole. Some have been before and some will experience it for the first time. **lot of good memories** Says Ken Miller Hole in the ground is my favorite campground here in Northern California. I just got back from a 3 day stay there and it was beautiful. I have been going to H.I.T.G. since I was a kid and my dad would take       me fishing there. Mill Creek is great for trout fishing and never crowded! Good luck finding Hole in the Ground though... the road is unmarked and if it were up to me I'd keep it that way. For the lucky few of us who know where   it is we should all keep it a closely guarded secret so it stays peaceful and beautiful for years to come.
