Hobo Campground, Southern Sierra Nevada, California Custom Search   I camped here about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. I did not do any white water rafting but I did do some hiking around the campground which was quite nice. Camp sites were clean and far enough apart to have decent privacy. Paddling on Kern River is so much fun, and going for a hike along the Cannell Meadow Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. California has a lot of outdoors activities. Through the summertime at Hobo Campground temperatures are frequently in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Hobo Campground. Lots of fun is at this campground. Hobo Campground is not the only place close by, Isabella Lake is a close by lake, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Tobias Creek Trail. Having a good time in the Southern Sierra Nevada is easy. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Kern River; hiking along   the Virginia Trail is wonderful fun. All the good local attractions nearby and the good variety of outdoors recreation are sure to keep you coming back time and again. Hobo Campground is a glorious camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Southern Sierra Nevada. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Shirley Meadow if you're here; a tremendous vista of pretty Hooper Hill is available. It is very dried up here at Hobo Campground usually; January is when you get the most rain here, and July is when it's the driest. Some of the things you can do here at Hobo Campground are hiking, fishing, whitewater paddling, and swimming, so running out of exciting things to do won’t happen.
