Fowlers Campground, Southern Cascade Range, California
|
| | This campground is definitely one that I have thoroughly enjoyed staying. While it was not anything special or out of the ordinary, the staff was friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere was very family friendly. I would suggest Fowlers to any family wanting just a nice vacation together, but if you are a camping enthusiast and are used to having high standards for your camping experience, you may want to search around a bit more before you decide to stay at Fowlers as it may be a bit more mediocre than what you are used to camping at. A visit to Fowlers Campground wouldn’t be complete without a trip to close by Castle Crags State Park, and do take a hike on the Coal Mine Trail. You definitely ought to like Fowlers Campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Rough and Ready Trail; you'll never forgive
| yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Shasta if you're here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Fowlers Campground a wet site; through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. For the period of the days of summer here at Fowlers Campground, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Fowlers Campground. This is such a fun place for a campground. | |

There's good hiking along the Cone Point Trail, and a trip to McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park is a nice idea. This place, the Southern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff. A gorgeous lake like Lake McCloud close to Fowlers Campground is a magnificent place to
take a look at, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Lakin Dam. Pit River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Southern Cascade Range. Bigelow Meadow is a great place, and Fowlers Campground
is close to Pine Tree Hollow which is undeniably worth taking a look at. This campground is a beautiful place to pop by. Whitewater paddling is delightful on McCloud River, and the Nelson Flat Trail offers hiking at its best. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Fowlers Campground;
Angel Meadow Trail is a brilliant local trail, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on McCloud River.
