  If you adore the outdoors, you won’t be disappointed; there's whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, and swimming, so probably you want to stay for a while. This campground is so delightful. What would winter be without some skiing at Kirkwood; don't leave without visiting Grover Hot Springs State Park. For the duration of the warm months at Damsite Campground temperatures are typically in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Damsite Campground are in the 10's.
    Damsite Campground gets a great deal of water; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and July meanwhile is the driest month. There's such a great deal of things to do right next door to Damsite Campground; it's always fun to be at this campground.

A spree to Damsite Campground wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Washoe Meadows State Park. Man, is there a heap of cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll meet a lot of people from Markleeville here, and do take a hike on the Charity Valley Trail. Mokelumne River - North Fork is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of Damsite Campground; going for a hike along the Emigrant Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
You completely have to fancy the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's some flowing water nearby, Middle Creek is a stream you can go to while here, and Border Ruffian Flat is a great place to stretch your legs a bit. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Carson River - East Fork; since you're here you can take a hike along the Hawley Grade Trail.
