The heaviest use is between mid-June through mid-August. Butt Lake is a great fishing lake. Motorboats are allowed but no skiing or jet skis. There is a nice rock\sand beach for playing. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always charming. There's so many things to do right next door to     Cool Springs Campground, and it is one of scores of great campgrounds in this neighborhood. Cool Springs Campground is a campground that is enormously   prized by the people of Canyon Dam. This campground is so nice. Take a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 16.
