of all the months in a year February is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. There's such an incredible array of things to do at Cienaga Campground including swimming, hiking, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so it's impossible to get bored.
But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Sierra Madre. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piru Creek; there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Gillette Mine Trail. Summer at Cienaga Campground arrives with
high temperatures in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Cienaga Campground temperatures plunge to the 30's. Having a nice time in the Sierra Madre
is painless. East Fork Fish Canyon is a tremendous place to explore in close proximity to Cienaga Campground, and don't miss out on a spree to Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area if you're here.
