There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mt Waterman, and a tour here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Angeles     National Forest. There's more to do right next door to Chilao Campground other than just hanging out such as relaxing, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do. Pack your tent and sleeping bag and get your wheels rolling; Chilao Campground in California is a wonderful selection. The great local attractions and such a great variety of outdoors recreation will make you delighted you came. Chilao Campground is one of the places to camp here in the San Gabriel Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Chilao Creek; Chilao Flat is a splendid location. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Chilao Campground.   Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Chilao Campground temperatures sink to the 30's. Chilao Campground is pretty dry generally; the month with most of the rain is February, and the driest of the months is July. The surroundings of this campground have such a large number of things to offer. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Chilao Campground; Gabrielino National Scenic Trail is a pleasant local trail, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Upper Winter Creek Trail. These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing stuff to do in the San Gabriel Mountains. The Santa Anita Trail offers hiking at its best; there are plenty of people from Sierra Madre here at Chilao Campground. Chilao Campground is frequently visited by campers from Sierra Madre. There are so many cool things in close proximity to Chilao Campground; it indisputably is a wonderful campground. In California you never run out of outdoors amusing things. This campground is so wonderful.
