Nearby there is a delightful 7-mile-long grade   II-III whitewater part, the Lake Isabella to Sandy Flat portion of Kern River. This portion of Kern River is delightful for those with some whitewater kayaking or rafting knowledge. Always check circumstances ahead of going whitewater kayaking or rafting given that whitewater kayaking or rafting is a dangerous thing to do.
