There's more to do near Caballo Campground other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, and swimming, so it's just not possible to get bored.   This is a glorious campground. A great spot like Fort Tejon State Park in the neighborhood of Caballo Campground is too great to leave out, and there are delightful sites to look at along the McGuire Trail. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Caballo Campground has it all. Apache Saddle is a good spot to stop at in close proximity to Caballo Campground, and going for a hike on the Piedra Blanca National Recreation Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Sierra Madre is peerless! Brush Mountain can be made out from Caballo Campground, and magnificent hiking is available along the Chorro Grande Trail. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Sierra Madre has to offer. There are other places here than Caballo Campground, for example Lake of the Woods.
