in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Butcher Gulch Campground during the winter commonly sink into the 10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Southern Cascade Range. Good hiking is available along
the Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail, and on a wonderful day you get a great view of Valley View Point from Butcher Gulch Campground. It's completely out of the question to run out of fun stuff to do in close proximity to Butcher Gulch Campground; if you're trying to locate a
great location to go camping for a couple of days, this is a delightful selection. What would a location like Butcher Gulch Campground be without out of the ordinary nearby marks like Palisade Cliff, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Pit River. Don't leave Butcher
Gulch Campground without first going for a hike along the Bunchgrass Trail; a pleasant place nearby is Lee March Gulch.
