There are so many cool things to do right next door to Butcher Gulch Campground, and scores of folks enjoy coming here to get away. Pit River is a tremendous whitewater spot in the vicinity of Butcher Gulch Campground; if you're into cool geologic features try Palisade Cliff.
Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, you need to get out, and Butcher Gulch Campground in California
    is the outdoors at its greatest. This campground is so nice. Don't leave Butcher Gulch Campground without first going for a hike along the Bunchgrass Trail; don't leave without going to McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park. This sector of California is always a pleasure to
pop by during camping season.
During the long summer days highs here at Butcher Gulch Campground get into the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Butcher Gulch Campground temperatures drop to the 10's. Some activities here at Butcher Gulch Campground are hiking, and whitewater paddling, so it's impossible to get bored.
Butcher Gulch Campground regularly gets a large amount of rainfall; through January this area sees
 
the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. But wait, there's more cool things to do in the Southern Cascade Range. A great site like Lassen National Forest right next door to Butcher Gulch Campground is too great to leave out; if you have the time, Lassen Volcanic National Park is a national park worth a visit.
A quick visit to Bullhock Creek in the vicinity of Butcher Gulch Campground is a perfect idea; do take some time to explore Lower Plantation while you're here. Butcher Gulch Campground is one of the sites to camp here in the Southern Cascade Range.
Having a great time in the Southern Cascade Range is uncomplicated. Good hiking is available along the Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail, and a fine location for whitewater paddling is Battle Creek - South Fork. This is a nice campground. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Butcher Gulch Campground; Chaos Crags Trail is a nice local trail, and Mushroom Rock is an out of the ordinary location to go to while at Butcher Gulch Campground.
You absolutely ought to adore Butcher Gulch Campground. You can see Valley View Point from Butcher Gulch Campground; Lee March Gulch is a tremendous location to spend some time. So many local attractions and so much to do will beyond doubt have you coming back over and over.
