This camp ground is one of the great places to camp here in the Central Sierra Nevada. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Big Spring Campground temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 40's with temperatures at Big Spring Campground dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
This campground is a wonderful place to pop by. Inyo Crater Lakes is a fine lake next to Big Spring Campground, and San Joaquin River - South Fork is a tremendous whitewater spot close by.
