Trinity River - South Fork has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby; Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park is a fine spot to go to. If you come to this campground, you will have a nice time for sure. Paddling on Trinity River is so much fun, and going for a hike on the Grouse Creek Tractor Trail is always a good adventure.
