Near Big Flat Campground you find the French Hill Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and a journey to Rattlesnake Flat revives the soul. This campground is a good site to
    visit. Go for a hike on the Hope Creek Trail, and Six Rivers National Forest is both splendid and delightful.

There are so many amusing things right next door to Big Flat Campground; what
a great spot for camping it is. Hurdygurdy Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting; when you're here it's always fun to check out Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Coast Ranges. Going for a hike on the Elk Camp Ridge Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and there's whitewater on Smith River - South Fork for all you thrill seekers. During the warm months at Big Flat Campground highs are ordinarily in the 60's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. During
 
the wintertime the highs are typically in the 50's; nighttime lows at Big Flat Campground through the wintertime mostly drop into the 30's.
Finally, the time is right for camping again; Big Flat Campground in California is such a great spot. Big Flat Campground is one of the sites to camp here in the Coast Ranges.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Goose Creek, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Crescent City North. In California you never run out of outdoors entertaining things. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things right next door to Big Flat Campground. The Paradise Trail is a brilliant hiking trail in close proximity to Big Flat Campground.
Such a splendid choice of attractions and the nearby outdoors recreation will make you pleased you came. There are some great whitewater spots on Hurdygurdy Creek, and naturally, all our national parks are perfect places to have a look at and Redwood National and State Parks is no exception. This place, the Coast Ranges, has so much outdoors exciting things. If you want a little side tour, try Haydens Gulch, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Summit Valley Trail.
The high level of rain makes Big Flat Campground a quite wet place; the wettest month of the year is regularly December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture.
