Going for a hike along the Granite Chief Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and if you're here why not stop at Squaw Valley. Donner Memorial State Park is a lovely spot any time of year, and Fir Crags is a great location to explore while in the neighborhood. This is a glorious campground. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Five Lakes; nearby you come across the Pacific Crest Trail - section 14 which is a good hiking trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Through the summer months highs here at Bear Creek Campground get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's; nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Bear Creek Campground tend to be in the 10's.
