If you're here, you might as well take a look at Fir Gulch; perfect hiking is available along the Humboldt Trail. This campground has so unbelievably much. Drift down the rapids of Hayfork Creek in a kayak, and going for a hike on the Bluford Trail is always a nice adventure.
If you come at the right time of year, Cottonwood Creek - Middle Fork offers some good whitewater, and there's perfect hiking along the Divide Trail. A lot of fun is at this campground. The Pettijohn Trail offers hiking at its best; a visit to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is worthwhile.
