Atchison Campground is a nice camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Klamath Mountains. Thomes Creek is a great whitewater spot near Atchison Campground, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the French Trail. Mendocino National Forest
is a fine spot; on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Smoke Howe Trail.
Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Going for a hike on the Soldier Trail is always a good adventure, and you can go for a hike on the Ides Cove National Recreation Trail. These
mountains rock, just look at all the amusing stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains.
A lot of folks stay at Atchison Campground for the purpose of being near Mendocino National Forest.
