Matney Campground, Boston Mountains, Arkansas Custom Search   Matney Campground is the location of the old Matney firetower-I went there years ago. Isn't it in the Leatherwood Wilderness Area? The Boston Mountains are at the headwatwers of the Buffalo River, not at it's confluence with the White River. I have been visiting that area for 30 years. Says Chris For the duration of the days of summer at Matney Campground temperatures are commonly in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs throughout the winter are commonly in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's     to Matney Campground. There's a heap of outdoors recreation available nearby such as fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so in all probability you want to stick around. Matney Campground is a wet place that gets much precipitation; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; January on the other hand is the driest. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll like Matney Campground. Take a side journey to Big Creek, and a brilliant vista of delightful Matney Knob is available. In Arkansas you never run out of outdoors amusing stuff. If you come at the right time of year, North Sylamore Creek offers some great whitewater, and if you've had enough of Matney Campground, Norfork Lake is close by. The Boston Mountains scenery is always wonderful. Matney Campground is an old favorite with folks of Norfork.   So many enjoyable things near Matney Campground, and campgrounds like these are brilliant. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Buffalo River, and what would a location like Matney Campground be without interesting close by traits like Red Bluff. Having a wonderful time in the Boston Mountains is easy. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Buffalo River; folks from Norfork love to come here. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time has come to get out, and Matney Campground in Arkansas is exactly the spot. So many local attractions and so many things to do will absolutely have you coming back again and again. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Boston Mountains. This is a tremendous campground. Rough Hollow is a perfect site to stop at near Matney Campground; sites like Bull Shoals State Park are pleasant to explore.
