Matney Campground, Boston Mountains, Arkansas   Matney Campground is the location of the old Matney firetower-I went there years ago. Isn't it in the Leatherwood Wilderness Area? The Boston Mountains are at the headwatwers of the Buffalo River, not at it's confluence with the White River. I have been visiting that area for 30 years. If you're here at Matney Campground, you could visit Big Creek, and North Sylamore   Creek has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by. As long as you go for the outdoors you will go for Arkansas. At Matney Campground all through the days of summer highs are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Matney Campground. Matney Campground is a campground that is exceptionally esteemed by people from Norfork. As if Matney Campground wasn't enough, you can also go relaxing, and whitewater paddling, so in all probability you want to stay a while. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Buffalo River; the peak of Matney Knob can be observed from Matney Campground.
