On nearby Teklanika River you come upon a grade V section of whitewater; the Teklanika Campground to Stampede Road portion is 19.6 miles long. This section of Teklanika River is a difficult section for whitewater rafting and kayaking.
 
    Check restrictions ahead of going on the whitewater, or else it's not safe and sound. Denali State Park is both wonderful and lovely, and it's right next door to Igloo Creek Campground; at Igloo Creek Campground you can make out Cathedral
  Mountain. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Alaska Range. Take a side trip to Igloo Creek. The amount of rain that falls at Igloo Creek Campground is close to the national average. The wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most while May is regularly the driest month. At Igloo Creek Campground through the long summer days highs are in the 60's.
